Kenja no Mago (賢者の孫 lit. Magi’s Grandson) is a Japanese novel series written by Yoshioka Tsuyoshi and illustrated by Kikuchi Seiji firstly released as a web novel. Individual volumes have been serialized as light novels in Enterbrain since July 30, 2015. The novel was later serialized as a fantasy manga illustrated by Ogata Shunsuke in Young Ace Up (Kadokawa) magazine. As of March 30, 2020, there are 12 Volumes of the novels, 2 extra volumes, and 13 Volumes of the manga.
Description
A young man is reborn in another world where he is adopted as a baby by the hero Merlin. Wolford and named Shin. By his 15th birthday, Shin has accumulated all kinds of power by studying under Merlin. But one thing his adoptive grandfather didn’t give him was a lick of common sense.
Kenja no Mago Manga, Synopsis: In the kingdom of Earlshide, Merlin Walford was once regarded as a national hero, hailed for both his power and achievements. Preferring a quiet life, however, he secludes himself deep in the rural woods, dedicating his time to raising an orphan that he saved. This orphan is Shin, a normal salaryman in modern-day Japan who was reincarnated into Merlin’s world while still retaining his past memories. As the year’s pass, Shin displays unparalleled talent in both magic casting and martial arts, much to Merlin’s constant amazement.
Thanks to various magic, the human race has been saved from calamity many times. Retaining his memories from his previous life. A boy, Shin, was picked up by an old man known to the world as the “Magi.” Shin was brought up by the Magi, who had retired to a secular place, as his grandson. With the memories of his past life, he absorbed the Magi’s craft and grew to be able to develop his magic. Then, the grandfather told him he has to become independent when he reaches the age of 15. “Ah, I forgot to teach him common sense.” The grandson who has grown beyond the level of normal people lacked common sense; the world’s common sense. So to learn how to socialize, he goes to Earlshide Kingdom City to be admitted to Earlshide Advanced Magic Academy.
